FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Here you will find answers to the most common questions about physiotherapy in Luxembourg and about care at the KINESENS center in Strassen-Bertrange. For any specific question, contact our secretariat on +352 27 40 00 55.
Yes. In Luxembourg, physiotherapy is provided on a doctor's prescription, and a prescription is required to be reimbursed by the National Health Fund (CNS). It must state the condition, the type of treatment and, for home care, the "ZD10" mention. Bring it to your first session; without it, sessions are not reimbursed.
The number of sessions covered depends on your medical prescription and on the National Health Fund (CNS) fee schedule. A first prescription usually covers a series of sessions, which your doctor can renew if your condition requires it. Our secretariat reviews your situation with you before starting.
Fees follow the agreement between physiotherapists and the CNS. You pay for the session, then the CNS reimburses the share set by the fee schedule; a remaining amount may be left to you depending on the procedures performed. The standard reimbursement rate is 70%. Some situations are reimbursed at 100%, such as serious conditions, post-surgery, patients under 18, ZB10 assessments and workplace accidents. The secretariat gives you the details before your first session.
Book online at any time on our booking page, or by phone on +352 27 40 00 55. Each slot corresponds to an individual session: book a separate appointment for each patient. If no slot suits you and your situation requires prompt care, call us directly.
No. An appointment is an individual session, for a single patient, and the length of the session stays the same regardless of the number of people. If several members of your family need care, book a separate appointment for each of them.
Online cancellation is not possible. If you are unable to attend, contact the practice on +352 27 40 00 55 at least 24 hours in advance. This allows us to offer your slot to another patient.
The first session starts with an assessment. The physiotherapist asks about your pain, your medical history and your goals, then carries out a clinical examination. From this, they define a personalized treatment plan. Wear comfortable clothing and bring your prescription along with any recent tests (X-rays, MRI scans, surgical reports).
A session usually lasts between 30 and 45 minutes (20 minutes minimum), depending on the condition and the type of care. The first session, which includes the assessment, may be a little longer. The duration is adapted to each patient by the physiotherapist.
Physiotherapy is care prescribed by a doctor and reimbursed by the CNS: it rehabilitates movement after an injury, an operation or an illness. Osteopathy is a complementary manual approach, without a prescription, focused on tissue mobility. The KINESENS center offers both.
Yes. Our team practices pediatric physiotherapy: motor delay, posture problems, plagiocephaly, and infant respiratory physiotherapy in cases of bronchiolitis. As for adults, a medical prescription is required.
